Dear friends and family,

We wanted to send you a brief update to bring you up to date on our life together in Mexico.

Ministry: Erin and I continue to feel that our most important ministries are to our men’s and women’s groups.

Cascade College Closing

Cascade College (Formerly Columbia Christian College, the only Church of Christ sponsored 4 year college in the Northwest) is closing its doors in the Spring of 2009. In a press release, Oklahoma Christian University's board formally announced yesterday (10/27) that the financing for operating the college has run short, and they are forced to close the Baccalaureate program. There are 280 students who attend Cascade, as well as 45 full-time faculty and staff. There are many students at Cascade who are in the Church and have roots in the Seattle/Portland area. It is quite sad to see such a fine Christian institution close its doors after so many years of service. I would ask that the Sunset faculty, staff, and students pray for Cascade students/staff, as well as for those prospective students who are currently being rejected. Among those effected are Paul Howard ('98) and his family. He has been teaching there for the past few years.

Needless to say, this is not a good situation - we pray that sound doctrine will continue to be taught in the Northwest for years to come, regardless of whether or not it is from Cascade.

Congratulations! Tim and Pam
