Church of Christ in Slaton Reopening

Brothers and sisters, this is one of our alumni, Curtis Baker, writing to us about the church in Slaton.  There have been two congregations there for some years, but the Division Street congregation grew old and few and gave the building to the other group.  This is the grand opening.  Perhaps you would like to join them on April 11 at 3 p.m. for their moving in.  I’m planning to go.  Let’s encourage them if we can.

January Newsletter

Hello

Here is another support letter of one of the disciples we are training for ministry that God has sent us through The AIM (Adventures In Missions) program. His name is Rob and he has decided to stay here and work with us for at least 3 years.

I send you there support letters because they give you a fresh prospective of the work we are all involved in and it also makes it easier for me to keep you updated.

Northeast Report

Friends,

Kay and I just returned from our 15th annual trip to work with congregations in the Northeast.  I was able to speak to three congregations and members from several other congregations who attended the various events.

Alumni Update from Michale Peitzmeier, '85

Tent-making for support while we work with local congregation of 10 members.  Very few congregations in this area.  Most are surviving and dwindling in numbers.  Thank you for your continuous prayers in chapel for all who labor in the fields of evangelism.  To the work with the Christ and His Kingdom!

Where Were You?

My thoughts immediately go back to our apartment in Donetsk, Ukraine when I see images or hear a song or story about that ominous Sept. 11th when the USA was attacked by terrorists.  On this anniversary, here are a few of my memories:

1. Wondering if it was some sort of horrible reality show idea, or something actually occurring as we watched it unfold on BBC.

2. Feeling more than 6,000 miles away as we thought of our family and friends struggling with this back in the USA.

3. Being awestruck with the expressions of sorrow and the prayers of the Ukrainian Christians who suffered so for us and for our country on that day and the days that followed.
