Signal HillDear Partners of the Gospel;
King David penned these wonderful words for us in Psalm 37:1-3). "Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass". As Christians, brethren we have nothing to fear, nothing to be envious about. As long as we continue to trust in the Lord, and live out that trust through obedience, all will be well with and for us. Marvellous words of encouragement as we face the struggles and hardships of life. Remember that Jesus said; "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matt. 10:28).

New Year's Greeting from Poland

Molly and I take this opportunity to send you heartfelt greetings at the end of the year 2009.  Looking back, five souls have been baptized into the Lord here in Sopot and over 800 hours of Bible lessons were taught.  A successful six-week children's program was completed and considerable progress has been made on completion and use of our auditorium facility.

We thank each of you for your prayers, your encouragement and your financial support which has made it possible for us to carry on with the work of the Lord in Sopot.  In the coming year, more than ever, we need your co-operation, prayers and financial help to meet the many opportunities and challenges that come our way.

May we again express to you our appreciation for each act of kindness and thoughtfulness, each contribution and every prayer offered on our behalf.

Your co-laborers in Christ,

Mike and Molly Dawidow

Children's Program 2009 - Sopot, Poland

The Sopot Children's English Bible classes are well underway with Annabelle and Bo Fryar running full speed keeping up with about twenty-five kids from four to ten years old five days a week.  This year's theme is the Life of Christ and last week's lesson was on the Baptism of Jesus by John the Baptizer.

To make the lesson more "interactive" the children were given locust and wild honey to eat.  We had them crawling all over our kitchen for a couple of days.

Molly, Miss Bo and Annabelle formed them from a Christmas gingerbread recipe, baked the separate body parts then stuck them together with powdered sugar "glue".  Antennae were made with toothpicks.

They hid the locust around the classroom like Easter eggs and told the kids they had to find and "catch" their supper. It took them about ten seconds to find all the locust and go the tables to dip them in the honey.  I'm sure these youngsters will never forget what John the Baptist ate in the dessert!

Polish Mission: Children's Bible Program

We are happy to announce that we are going to have a children's school again this summer. This has been a very successful outreach in the past. Please read about it below:

About Annabelle . . .

Our daughter Annabelle was three and a half years old when we moved to Austria and she encountered her first foreign language. We had sailed across the Atlantic to Southampton, ferried to France and drove to Vienna. After arriving in Austria, Annabelle came to us with a confused look on her face. “That boat did something to my ears,” she observed. “Since we got off, I can’t understand anything anyone says to me!”

She quickly caught on, however, for a few days later a blonde-haired Austrian kid grabbed her toy truck in the park and took it back to his corner of the sandbox. Molly decided to just sit tight and watch how Annabelle would handle her first cross-cultural challenge. Without even looking at her mother, she marched over, snatched her toy back and announced authoritatively in perfect German, “Das ist mein!”

A valiant warrior for the Lord has won the battle!  Lon Mohundro went to sleep in his recliner and awoke in the arms of Jesus April 11, 2009.  He had served the Lord as a minister to churches in the Northeast, specifically PA and NJ, for 27 years after graduating from Sunset in 1976.  He retired from fulltime work in 2003, but continued to serve the Lord to the end of his life in Charlotte, North Carolina.
