Update on Armando Alaniz

March 12, 2010
Dear Christian Friends,
Since our last update on Armando Alaniz's health condition on February 16, Armando has been in and out of the hospital. In between hospitalizations, he has made trips to the emergency room.  They did put in a port to give him chemotherapy.  A week later when he visited the doctor on March 9 to begin his first chemotherapy treatment, he was told that chemotherapy would not be effective against his cancer.  The doctor shared with him they did not know anything they could do and gave him a projection not to exceed two months to live.
Armando is scheduled to go back to the doctor in two weeks, and if his blood work allows, they may give him a new experimental drug.  Armando shared this information  with the Angleton elders March 11.

Update on Armando Alaniz

We received this on Saturday:

I am Angelica Alaniz daughter of Armando Alaniz. My dad wanted me to update you on his health, after several days of intensive testing of his deteriorating health the team of 5 physicians diagnose him with stage 4 cancer of the colon. This primary score mass grew enough to spread the cancer to the liver and lungs. The cancer deteriorated enough of his blood cells, that he had to have a transfusion of 2 units of blood to replenish the loss.

My dad continues to be hospitalized. Tuesday, God willing, they will do minor surgeryto place a port on his chest of chemotherapy treatment until the cancer is regressed. My family continues to ask for prayers.

We received word in the mail Monday that Bradford Hull Morris died on March 27, 2008 from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. He graduated from SSOP in January 1979, from the Graduate Studies in January of 1980 and from the India Studies in January of 1981. The family asked for memory donations be sent to SIBI or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The family wrote this:

Dear Sunset family,
It is with mixed emotions: sadness and thankfulness that we share the passing of Bradford. We are sad as we miss his smile, his sense of humor, his spiritual mentoring, and his knowledge of God’s word. We are also extremely thankful that he has reached his heart filled goal, Victory in Jesus.
Bradford, an alumni of Sunset School of Preaching, cherished his days at the school We trust there are still faculty there that are friends of his. Please share this information with them.
May God continue to bless each and every one of you as you continue to share the gospel around the world.
Blessings!
The family of Bradford Morris
