Dear all,
I am wishing God's riches blessings on all of you for the New Year. I am praying that He will be our focus this year and that as we plant He will add the increase to His Kingdom. I appreciate all of you for the support you have given me in the work of the Lord for Central Africa. I am going to Lubbock, Texas January 18-22, 2012 to meet with Tim Burow and will make my schedule for the times I will be in Africa in 2012. This is only possible because you with God's love have made it possible.

Dear all,
First of let me say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I have received so many cards wishing thes same words to me. I almost feel guilty for not sending any to you but I have chosen this year not spend funds on cards and postage but rather give those funds to mission work. Please forgive me if you needed a card from me. It is not that I didn't remember you because I did. May God bless you at this time of year. May you use this time when many are talking about Christ to really share Him with others. I love all of you and it is okay if you don't send me cards but spend it on mission work.
May God give you time to plant His seed every day so He can add the increase in 2012.
God bless
Dan Goodyear

Dear Friends,
I just returned from Greece just more than a week ago. I thought that you would enjoy what God did through the efforts in Greece. May God richly bless each of you.
On Wedsnesday evening a good friend of mine who is the assoicate minister of the Eureka, CA church suffered a stroke. Please pray for Kerry Glavich and his wife MaryJean and the rest of the family. He is unable to speak but has some use of his right limbs. The obstruction was in the left carodit artery. He is currently in intensive care at St Joseph Hospital in Eureka. The doctors have him in a 48-hour watch to determine how to extend care for him since they do not know the exact time of the stroke or how it progress initally. The do not know what permanent damage has resulted.
Please put the Glavich family in your prayers and pass this request to all you know.

7/9 As of 4:25 on Tuesday afternoon, Virgil is out of surgery and in recovery. The surgery went well and his carotid artery is now open. No word at this point about prognosis or recovery time. We do know that there is also some “non-life threatening” heart artery blockage which they will treat with medication for the next 6 months or so and then reevaluate. Please keep Virgil and Joy in your prayers and also remember the External Studies Department during the time that a great leader is temporarily sidelined.
7/7 Virgil had his angiogram this morning. The angiogram showed some concern but nothing that can’t wait for about 6 months. Their biggest concern in the carotid artery which is 90% blocked. He will have surgery at 1:00 today to clean out the carotid artery. Continue keeping him and Joy in your prayers.
7/6 Virgil Yocham was taken to the Heart Hospital this morning. He has had a TIA. He is on the verge of a major stroke. There is blockage on one side and they will do an angiogram as soon as they can. Please stop and say a prayer for him and Joy.

UPDATE - 5:10PM 4/8/09
Sammy is home and sleeping at this time. Now it is my turn to play nurse!
He was nauseated and the nurse gave him two shots to ease his sickness. He has been asleep all day. I got him awake enough to bring him home and he went to bed. That has been three hours ago. So far he is a good patient!
I think he is going to be fine; it will take a week or so to get him back to normal.

Note from Diana Kretz concerning Sammy Flanary's health in Athens, Greece:
HI,
Just a quick note to say that Sammy had to go to the doctor today. His foot is really hurting him and I guess it has a small pin hole in it, which is very bad for diabetics. The orthopedics said that it was okay bone wise and he'll see a vascular doctor tomorrow , I believe. Please be praying for him and Mary to make the right decisions. I have to admit I would be on the first plane back to the states because I would want my own doctor. Ron Edwards could easily stay and take over his classes, in fact he finished up Sammy's class today. Please pray for the situation.
