Dear friends,
This is our latest news letter. It is a little bigger than usually because of Mata's extra section.
Be well and have a great summer.
We love you

Update from Phil Geeck

Submitted by Sunset Alumni on Tue, 03/25/2008 - 13:56

Dear Brethren,

Greetings. I thought I would bring you up to date in respect to Holly, our daughter-in-law. When we petitioned you for prayers, the situation did not look good. Basically, her liver shut down and the doctors were having trouble stabilizing it. After five days trying different treatments, they gave her two blood transfusions which seemed to jump-start her liver into action After eight days in the hospital, she returned home, on December 27th, to begin her long road to recovery. During the whole ordeal, she lost nearly sixty pounds. She is starting to regain some of that weight back.

In April, Holly will go back to a specialist to determine if she will need a liver transplant. We are hoping that she won't have that need. Part of the strain is that she and Terry don't have insurance and the cost of eight days of hospitalization and a new cost of hospitalization and a transplant will be overwhelming. We are confident that God will provide one way or another. They are trying to get on an Oregon state supported health plan. If this works, it will greatly help to cover any future costs.

Rudy Wray Newsletter

Submitted by Sunset Alumni on Fri, 03/14/2008 - 14:16

The Woodward Park congregation in Fresno, California is an amazing church! It is a vibrant and growing congregation with a long history of successful mission work. Perhaps one of the most productive mission fields in recent history is the work in Ethiopia, Hundreds of thousands have been won to the Lord, hundreds have been trained as preachers and teachers of the Word and hundreds of churches established as a result of the diligent work of this mission-minded church. But Ethiopia has not been the only mission field blessed by Woodward Park. They are now doing some exciting things in Sudan, and for over forty years, have been involved in mission work in Mexicali, Mexico.

It is the Woodward Park congregation that has recently been working with Sunset International Bible Institute to establish a ministry training center in Mexicali. At Sunset’s annual World Evangelism Forum an agreement was signed between Sunset and the Woodward Park elders which, the Lord willing, will bring ministry training to Mexicali in late August of this year.
