Computer Thank You - Jerry Hogg

This is a 3-page letter that we sent out today in appreciation for several churches and individuals who had a part in assisting us to provide 9 new computers and email service for staff members at the Bible College. In just over 5 weeks, over $11,300.00 was received for the SABC Computer Fund. God is good and the brethren are wonderful!

January-April 2008 Missionary Report from Albany, Western Australia

Loving greetings to all who receive this report from Moya & myself. It is hard to believe that we have been back home in Australia for almost 2-months since our visit to the United States. However, our memories are still very fresh of the special times we shared visiting with the Southwest Church of Christ in Amarillo, Texas during the months of January and February. The Southwest Church has loyally supported me in ministry for 30 of my 40 years of preaching.

Ministry Training - Asia from George Carman

Hilda and I joined 451 people for a victory dinner in Lubbock, TX on April 19, 2008. The dinner marked the end of a 3 year capital campaign to raise $12 million dollars.

This was the largest fund raiser in the history of Sunset and was a daunting task. Shortly after we gathered, Truitt Adair, the Executive Director for SIBI announced the results of the campaign. Our brotherhood donated a whopping $13,070,894.00! That’s right, we exceeded our goal by over 1 million dollars! To God be the glory!

March 2008 Report

Life is not always fair! We often hear someone say, especially kids, "that’s not fair!" As adults, we try to explain the why’s and wherefore’s at those times. When we hear of illness or loved ones who die, even grown-ups think life is not fair: that person was so young, so healthy, so vibrant, or so important to his/her family, the community, the church. In the Bible, the word "fair" almost always refers to the female gender, fair damsel (I Kings 1:3), she was fair to look upon (Esther 1:11), or to fair weather (Job 37:22), and usually as an adjective, never an adverb. In most cases, we use fair as an adverb, something unjust!

February News - Jerry Hogg

29 February 2008

It’s not often we can use this date! Leap year has this extra day to catch-up with the time cycle. As Christians, we are grateful for every day, every moment God gives us to serve Him upon this earth. "For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting and his Truth endureth to all generations." Psalm 100:5. It is our prayer that everyone used the extra day wisely. It’s good to be home in Africa!
