Mexico Mission - Quick Update

Good morning, Thought for the day 1 Thessalonians 2:13 And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe. This Sunday I will be reaching a milestone for which I need your prayers. I will be preaching at the Iglesia de Cristo Metropolitana, in Spanish. I am blessed, anxious, excited, nervous, scared, overwhelmed, and humbled at the same time. As I've been preparing for the sermon, I have thought about the words that Paul writes to the church of the Thessalonians. Throughout his letter, he references the word of God and how it is the source of their faith and belief, and how they knew from the beginning it was from God and not from men. As God reveals His word in your life, whether through a sermon, an individual Bible study, words of wisdom from a friend, something you hear on the radio, a billboard, etc - whatever it may be, weigh the words against the source and determine if what is being said matches up with the original message of God. In Acts 17:11, we see that the Christians in Berea were "more noble" that the Thessalonians because they did in fact, check to see that the message Paul gave them was the word of God. Let us, as we pursue our faith, as we transition from spiritual milk to solid food, examine what we are taught to determine, for ourselves, to know that it is the word of God. Quick Update Yesterday I began my first day of my last level of Spanish. In six weeks, I will be finished with Spanish classes and will transition to working exclusively through His church that meets in Mexico City. In two weeks a second men's group will begin meeting at the church, and I have several Christian men that have expressed an interest in joining / please keep these guys and me in your prayers. I can't believe it is almost September... does anyone else feel that way? As the end of the year approaches quickly, it is time for me to renew commitments with current supporters for the work here. I will be sending more information in the upcoming weeks, but I will be renewing my commitments to remain in Mexico City and continue the work for 2015. While I am indefinitely committed to the great commission, the location continues to be Mexico. I love the people of this great city - and like Nineveh, a great city in the Old Testament, this great city also needs to hear the message of repentance and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Support Update As mentioned before, I will be renewing my commitments for 2015. For my current supporters, thank you, and please pray and earnestly consider continuing your support for 2015. I will be contacting you individually in the coming weeks. May God bless you richly this day, Keep your eyes on Christ, Travis Sayen
