Gerald Paden Departs His "Earthly Tent"

Our beloved Gerald Paden departed his “earthly tent” at about 2:30 this morning (Monday).  There will be a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, July 22nd, in the auditorium of the Sunset Church of Christ, Lubbock, Texas, with family visitation to follow in the chapel.

Please keep the Paden family in your prayers. We want the entire SIBI family to be present for what will undoubtedly be a celebration of a very significant life and ministry.  May our Lord be praised by all that is said and done.

Memorial - Eugene Cardinal, 1967

Friends, Just received word from his daughter that Eugene Cardinal (’67) passed away in Phoenix, where he had lived and ministered for many years. Eugene was inexplicably nicknamed “Shorty” (even though he was over 6 feet tall) and he was known by that name by all who were at SSOP during his tenure. Kay and I lived next door to the Cardinals for a time while we were fellow students and we ministered across town from each other for the 10 years we were in Phoenix. There are fewer and fewer of us around from the ‘60’s decade of the school! Truitt

Memorial - Ron Devore, 1986

Alumni Tragedy - Prayers Needed

Dear Friends,

Please keep the Les Ferguson family (SSOP ’73) in your prayers. Les is the past president of Magnolia Bible College and is presently preaching in Kosciusko, MS. Yesterday their daughter-in-law, Karen, and 21 year old grandson, Trevor Cole, who had cerebral palsy were shot and killed by a 70 year old man who later killed himself. Les Jr, son of Les and Marge Ferguson, is the preacher for the Orange Grove Church of Christ and was not at home when it happened. Their 14 year old son was with friends but their five year old was in the house and ran to get help.

Don Perry has Won the Victory

At 2pm this afternoon, Don went to his home in glory.

The memorial will be 2pm SUNDAY in the Sunset Auditorium.

Truitt would like all faculty and students to be there.  The faculty will all sit together in a group near the front.
