Memorial - Jorge Del Bosque, '07

We just received word that Jorge has died.  We have been praying for this brother for a number of months as he battled cancer.  More information will be posted once we know more.

Update on Jorge del Bosque

7/7

Update for Jorge. He is still in hospital, meeting to see if he can go home. He is coughing up a lot of stuff, does not want a tube to help it go away, if something not done, he will probably suffocate on it.. it is down to the wire I think, so please pray, as I know all are doing, but pray for a peaceful transition as possible, he is surrounded by family and friends at all times, so he will go with someone holding his hand. Matt has been with him nonstop since Sunday afternoon, as well as Matt’s bro and Jorge’s family. The children and i are on our way now to see him... Thank you to all who have faithfully prayed for Brother Jorge... I will keep updated as I am able.  Love to all...Alishia

7/6

He just returned from 4 Days in ICU, his liver and bodily organs were so swollen he couldn't breath. they were able to get the swelling down. he will know tomorrow if he'll be able to take another treatment or not. they decided to give him 1 5 hour treatment in the hospital every ten days and not to send him home with anymore (He isn't able to handle it all). we're not sure he'll be able to handle any of it at this point.

Update - Jorge Del Bosque

The office just talked to Matt and Alishia Blaine about Jorge.  He is weakening.  The doctors were going to start chemo on May 22 but his white blood count was low.  He does have a port in his chest and is right now on steroids to help bring his white blood count up.  They hope to start the chemo on June 1st. It will be a light dose to try to give him an extra week or two.

Jorge’s main desire is to go out with strength and joy to show what real faith in God is.  He has no money to leave, so he wants to leave his faith as an example to others.  He also asks for strength so he can keep going out to teach.

Right now, Jorge is living with Matt’s brother and sister-in-law, Pat and Danielle Blaine.  Matt & Alishia have promised Jorge that he will stay out of the hospital and live with them and with Matt’s brother.  When he starts the chemo, it will be in a satchel so he will not need to be in the hospital for it.

Please keep Jorge in your prayers.  Also keep Matt & Alishia and their kids and Pat & Danielle in your prayers as they take care of Jorge.

Prayer Request - Jorge Del Bosque

Monty Pettyjohn reported in chapel today that Jorge Del Bosque, who has battle cancer before, has been diagnosed again.  The doctors are not optimistic about his recovery.  Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
