Partnering in Interactive Videoconferencing

Submitted by dcswinford on Tue, 12/23/2008 - 03:07

It is amazing to see our Executive Director, Truitt Adair (standing), and a classroom of students from the Quito School of Biblical Studies in Quito, Ecuador studying at the feet of Armando Alaniz from the Texas Gulf Coast Bible Institute in Houston, Texas!  Brother Alaniz, who taught at Sunset when I was a student in the late '80's teaches Spanish speaking students in the USA, Central America and South America from the classroom in Houston by interactive videoconferencing.  Armando can see the students and the students can see him and even ask questions in real time.  What an incredible way to spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus around the world!

Texas Gulf Coast Bible Institute - Year End Letter

Submitted by Sunset Alumni on Thu, 12/04/2008 - 15:32

December 5, 2008

Greetings from the Texas Gulf Coast Bible Institute!  Another year full of God’s blessing has passed rapidly.  We wanted to share some exciting highlights from the year.

First, in January we had three full-time students begin with us, and work in area churches.  Andres and Gloria Guajardo have done well in Alvin this year, and Agustin Garcia continues to minister in a relatively new congregation south of Houston.  Renzo Mayorga launched a small new Hispanic group in Clear Lake, and now has two cell groups, as well as the first person baptized.  Finally, Julio and Fior Beitia continued in Baytown, primarily at the Lakewood congregation, with a number of activities, such as a campaign, cooking classes, and a counseling seminar.
