Translation Center Report: "I Totally Love This Job"

When was the last time I sent out a Translation Center Progress Report and told EVERYONE how much I love the job that God has prepared for me? It has been too long.

My favorite scripture passage is Acts 17:24-27. Partially quoting it, Paul said: "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth . . . and he determined the times set for MAN and the exact places where he should live."

We ARE God's OFFSPRING and He wants nothing but the best for His children. So I believe almost 7 years ago HE, my Father, prepared a job especially made for me and my personality. I totally love what I get to do and the people I get to work with all over this world. Because of my job, I now have Friends in Recife & Salvador, Brazil; Mexico City, Mexico; Donetsk, Ukraine; Barnaul, Russia; Vienna, Austria; Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX; Sulphur Springs, LA; Tulsa, OK and on and on I could go. I get to meet new people online and by phone who are interested in working for us or using our materials. I get to edit and format the books in English before I send the manuscripts out to all of our translators. That is just like being back in school again and taking these wonderful scripturally sound courses all over again. I am privilege to be able to format the Spanish and Portuguese courses here in Lubbock, but we are blessed to have a partnership with Eastern European Mission who formats and prints all of our works in Russian for us. The books that are available or soon will be available in Russian are:

The Director of SIBI International Department recently returned from teaching in Donestk, Ukraine. He said it was amazing to be able to begin a class on Ephesians or Romans and see all the students in our school at UBI reach into their backpacks or desks and pull out their own copies of the material he was preparing to teach. This is a dream...A VISION...come true for Cline Paden and others here at Sunset who planned and prepared for years for the Sunset International Translation Center. This Center is an amazing new MISSION field for the Sunset International Bible Institute.

2008 is destined the be the YEAR OF PROGRESS for all of our translated languages. I just finished formating Ephesians by Gerald Paden in PORTUGUESE, and I have started the final format for Bible History 1 by Richard Rogers in Portuguese. Doug has already finished the covers for both of these books and Tim Brumfield is taking the final copies to Recife next week so that our translators there can look at those two books one more time before we send the books to our printer here in Lubbock, TX. They will be published by Sunset Institute Press!! Last night I finished the final format of Bible History 1 in Spanish as translated by our own Sunset grad Arthur Punente, Jr. Arthur will take a final look at this book before we sent it to the printers. Virgil Yocham recently sent Ephesians in Spanish to the printers and we should soon have copies of that book ready for anyone who needs them. The book of Acts by Abe Lincoln is already available in Spanish through our Extension Department for churches and missionaries. These two books will be offered FREE to all of our Spanish Branch Schools through the contributions of our supporters. EEM is able to send our Russian books for FREE to students in our schools in Athens, Greece; Barnaul, Russia; and Donetsk, Ukraine, because of the financial support and prayers of many of you. We have a new work that has just begun. The language will be Acholi which is the language of the Sudan natives.

We dream of a day when every tribe, every nation, and every tongue will be able to have biblical resources available in their own language.
