Two Burials of brother George - Mike Dawidow, Sopot, Poland

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:
on such the second death hath no power.
Revelation 20:6
In early 2006, George began attending services with his wife, Emily, who had been converted as a result of the food program in the 1980's. In October of that year, I had the honor of assisting George in his spiritual burial and resurrection to a new life in Christ Jesus when I baptized him for the remission of his sins.
We were therefore buried with him through baptism
into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Romans 6:4
With his wife Emily, he faithfully attended services and Bible classes and enjoyed the fellowship of the saints in Sopot. Early last spring, this dear brother was diagnosed with brain cancer. It was heart-breaking to watch him slowly loose his ability to speak and then to be admitted to hospice care when he could no longer function.
Molly and I visited with him and the last time I was with him, I read to him from the eighth chapter of the book of Romans. Though he could not speak, he squeezed my hand as I read this passage.
Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:1
Brother George died last fall and was buried here in Sopot in the same cemetery as my family. Because of his first death and burial, his second one was celebration of his entry into the eternal home our Father has prepared for us.
Thank you for your part in giving us the opportunity to share the Gospel with George and others here in Poland.
Yours in Christ,
Mike and Molly Dawidow
