A message received from Tom Pauley:
Paula and I humbly request your prayers as well as the other faculty members. I was diagnosed yesterday with full blown Leukemia. Currently it is in the early stages and may very possibly remain there for many years to come. However our oncologist also reminded us that it could always become aggressive. It's kinda like sitting on a time bomb. So all we will do know as far as treatment, is regular blood tests, every two months , and watch and wait.

To My Beloved Family,
It has been almost one year since I was diagnosed with having full blown leukemia. God in all of His glory and power has kept it in what is called the "smoldering"stage. This means it is not getting worse nor better. We were concerned in January because I had to undergo full knee replacement surgery on my left knee. Six weeks after surgery I had additional surgery due to the knee cap moving around. Turned out that the large tendon that holds the knee had been shredded by something...possibly a bone fragment from the previous surgery. That has set me back in all of my recovery and really did a number on me physically. Leukemia can be kicked into the "agressive" stage by a "stressor" and that had us worried. But God has seen to it that hasn't happened. The down side of this is I will probably be laid off and forced into some type of retirement when I am off of medical leave. Be praying that will not happen. However if that is the case then Paula and I without question or reservation God will take care of us.
