This Just In....

The following is from a report by Marvin Ancell which will give you better news about the fires and the Christians involved:

Down south there has been at least 138 deaths with the total loss of 780 homes, so far.   We know that the congregational building  in Yakandandah is threatened with some of the members cut off from one another but all seem to be safe.  It is the worst fire storm in Australian history, with the brunt of it being down in and around Melbourne.  It has even got very close to the northern part of the city where many members of the church live and work.  At this moment, no one in the church has lost anything that we know of.

The congregation at Belmore Road is setting itself up to help the people who have been affected by the fires.   The hospital system is under a great deal of stress because of all of the heat stroke and burn victims that have come in.  The general weather in the city is around 115 on the average this summer with some smoke related respiratory problems as well.  There have been over serious 800 burn victims come into the hospitals as well.

Graeme, Fantastic to hear from you my long-lost brother! Where are you and what are you doing? I have thought about you so often and wondered if you were alive and well. I am actually in Australia at the moment (Sydney) with my granddaughter, Heather, and due to go to Adelaide on the 14th. There for a week and then heading back to Abilene, TX where I live now. I come to Oz at least once or twice a year. Email me at my address: dwight.whitsett@gmail.com. Greetings in HIM, Dwight
