February News - Jerry Hogg

29 February 2008

It’s not often we can use this date! Leap year has this extra day to catch-up with the time cycle. As Christians, we are grateful for every day, every moment God gives us to serve Him upon this earth. "For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting and his Truth endureth to all generations." Psalm 100:5. It is our prayer that everyone used the extra day wisely. It’s good to be home in Africa!

Philippines Report - Sunset in the Philippines

I was blessed to be able to travel to and teach in our four schools in the Philippines. Charles Smith, the founder and administrator of the schools, has done a fantastic job of instilling a heart for evangelism and church planting in the minds of our co-workers and students in the Philippines. This spirit was a great blessing and something that every SIBI school should embrace. I am so thankful to those who support our family and ministry training schools like these for allowing us to participate in such efforts.

January - February 2008

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Well, a couple of months have come and gone, and the work is beginning to take off. I apologize for not writing sooner. My plan is to give monthly reports, but I have let the time get away from me over the past two months. However, that can be taken as a good sign, because the only way that time can get away is when we are really busy! As you may have guessed, since I have not written sooner, I am combining my report for January and February.

As for the work here, there are a lot of ideas and plans on how to effectively reach the lost and to help the church grow. We are even talking about another church plant here in the Recife area! The exciting part is that I am able to be a part of the planning! All of the training that I have endured at the beginning of this journey is beginning to become a reality to me!

Building and Maintaining Healthy Leader Relationships In The Church

Dear friends,
On March 18 I will be guiding a discussion at our local Mens'/Preachers' Meeting here in Columbia, SC. The topic I'm going to address is "Building and Maintaining Healthy Leader Relationships In The Church". I am asking for input from former and present elders, preachers, their wives and some others in the church. All input used will be anonymous. I value your participation in this study. I will be happy to send a copy of the final result to any that would like it in a Word attachment.
